FAQ

1. How weatherproof and durable are the tabletops and seating surfaces?
Our tabletops and bench seats are crafted from heavy-gauge expanded metal mesh with a thick thermoplastic coating. This creates a seamless, high-gloss finish that is exceptionally resistant to moisture, mold, UV fading, scratches, and graffiti. The surface stays cooler in the sun than solid metal and requires no painting or sealing, ensuring years of maintenance-free durability in any climate.

2. What makes a picnic table wheelchair accessible, and do you offer them?
Yes, we offer ADA-compliant accessible tables. Our accessible picnic tables are designed with extended tabletops and an open bench design on one or more sides to provide clear knee space (at least 27" high and 19" deep) for a wheelchair user to comfortably roll under the table. They feature the same durable thermoplastic-coated mesh and reinforced steel frame as our standard models.

3. Is the table truly portable, or does it require permanent installation?

While the unit is a single, sturdy piece, "portable" refers to its ability to be relocated with appropriate equipment, not that it is lightweight or folding. For secure, permanent placement, we strongly recommend surface mounting using the pre-drilled holes in the frame legs. Freestanding use is possible for temporary events, but anchoring is needed for public or high-wind areas to prevent tipping or theft.

4. What size umbrella fits the table, and is a base required?
The table features a standard 1-5/8" diameter umbrella hole in the center of the tabletop. A locking set screw is included to secure the pole. Due to the table's significant weight and stable design, a separate umbrella base is typically not required, making it a convenient all-in-one solution for shade.

5. Will the colors on the tabletop and benches fade over time?
The thermoplastic coating is specifically formulated with UV inhibitors to provide excellent colorfastness and resist fading from sun exposure. While all colors may experience very gradual changes over many years of intense sunlight, this coating is far more fade-resistant than standard paints or powders, keeping your table looking vibrant with minimal color shift.
